Singapore, October 2024 — In conjunction with the ongoing ASEAN Japan Cybersecurity Community Alliance (AJCCA) Conference, held on 17 October 2024 during Cyber Security Week in Singapore, AJCCA proudly announced the recipients of the first-ever Cybersecurity Resilience Awards (ACRA). These prestigious awards were established to honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to enhancing cyber resilience in their respective countries across ASEAN and Japan.

The head of the award committee, Dr. Hiroshi Esaki, explained that the ACRA initiative seeks to recognize key figures who have been instrumental in advocating for cybersecurity and resilience in the region. "This initiative celebrates individuals who have shown remarkable leadership and dedication to cybersecurity in Japan and ASEAN countries," Dr. Esaki stated. "It has the potential to positively influence the broader cybersecurity community, fostering a culture of resilience and collaboration."

ACRA Lead Coordinator, Sam Jacoba, further noted that the awards highlight exemplary achievements from 2019 to August 2024. "Nominees are assessed based on five core criteria that align with AJCCA’s Vision, Mission, and Values," he said. "These criteria are: Dynamic Leadership, Resilience, Trustworthiness, Respect, and Collaboration."

The inaugural ACRA 2024 awards recognized 19 individuals from Japan and ASEAN countries for their unwavering dedication to advancing AJCCA’s vision of "a dynamic and resilient cybersecurity community in our region through trustworthy and respectful collaboration." Among the awardees were two distinguished representatives from Brunei, Dr. Rosyzie Anna Awg Hj Md Apong and Mohamad Azad Zaki Haji Mohd Tahir, whose contributions have been critical to promoting cybersecurity and resilience within Brunei and the broader region.
